I love my local produce box, I use The Produce Box. It shows up every Wednesday on my front doorstep! You have the option to switch fruits and vegetables if you don’t like them, which I think is really cool. I’m not picky, at all, unless you are fennel, so I use it as a way to experiment with new fruits and vegetables that I don’t normally buy.
It’s not that I dislike honeydew, I just really LOVE cantaloupe.
I knew I would use it in a smoothie and this one is PERFECT. It uses basil, which is out of control in the summer and gives it a great unique flavor. As usual, you would never know there is spinach in this and it has the perfect amount of sweetness.
I know I will be choosing honeydew now to make this smoothie! 😊
I always use Greek yogurt to help pack in the protein. You could use vanilla Greek yogurt in this and omit the vanilla and honey from the recipe. I prefer to keep plain yogurt and then flavor it when I need it.
- 1 cup of Honeydew, fresh
- ½ cup of Greek Yogurt
- ¼ teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon of Honey
- ¼ cup of Basil
- ¼ cup of Spinach
- 1-2 cups of Ice
- Place all ingredients except ice in a high-power blender and blend until smooth.
- Add 1 cup of ice and blend well; add more until desired consistency is reached.
- Drink immediately.
