Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I look forward to May 5th rolling around every year, but to honest, I don’t really need an excuse to eat chips + salsa and margaritas.
It is one of my favorite things and it couldn’t be more perfect that it has fallen on a Friday this year!
I have fallen hard for passion fruit and it is delicious in this margarita. The passion fruit is overly-sweet, but balanced with lots of booze, and a pinch of salt.
If there was ever a perfect margarita to drink to put out the heat over the extremely spicy salsa, this is it. I have never had a more perfect combination!
Passion fruit puree can be a little difficult to find, but I found it in a Mexican market in the frozen section. I keep it stocked in my refrigerator now, you should too.
- 1 cup of Passion Fruit Puree
- 1 cup of Tequila
- ¼ cup of Triple Sec
- 2 teaspoons of Sugar
- Pinch of Salt
- Crushed Ice
- 2 Limes
- Combine the passion fruit puree, tequila, triple sec, sugar, and salt in a cocktail shaker. Shake well.
- Fill 4 short glasses to the top with crushed ice, fill to the top with the margarita mixture, squeeze ½ a lime in each glass.
