We starting doing recipe swaps again and I could not be more excited. This time around, Ashley, from Cheese Curd in Paradise, is the host! I received the blog Kosher Kitchen. I have cooked from this blog before, so I couldn’t wait to choose something new. As soon as I spotted these salted caramel brownies, I knew they would be the perfect sweet treat for my guests arriving in town tonight. They are everything I love in a dessert, a little sweet and a little salty.
These blondies did not disappoint and bonus, you may everything you need in your pantry to make them, right now! I did.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups of Light Brown Sugar, firmly packed 1 cup of Unsalted Butter, melted 2 1/4 cups of All-Purpose Flour 3/4 teaspoon of Baking Soda 1 teaspoon of Salt, divided 2 Eggs, large 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 3/4 cup of Caramel Sauce, store-bought or homemade
Preheat your oven to 375 and prepare a 8×8 dish with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
Pour the sugar into your mixing bowl and stir in the melted butter. Set aside to let cool.
Next, in a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Set aside.
Beat the eggs and vanilla into the sugar; add the dry ingredients in 1/4ths until all thas been added and the mixture is thick and smooth.
Spread half of the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 12-14 minutes. Remove from the oven and pour the caramel sauce evenly over the top and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Dollop the rest of the batter on the top and try to smooth as best as you can. It will bake together evenly, so it does not need to be perfect. Top with a sprinkle of sea salt.
Let bake another 12-14 minutes. Let cool and slice and serve.
