I remember the first time I had chick-fil-a sauce. It was in college, in the SUB (Student Union Building). We would crowd together with our friends, who had a lunch break at the same time, and either eat Chick-Fil-A, Sbarro, or Boar’s Head Deli. Chick-Fil-A was by far the fastest. The also had little baskets with all of the different sauces in it, so you didn’t have to ask for the exact number of sauces you wanted. Buffalo sauce was always my choice of poison, I loved it and could not get enough. One day, I noticed a few of the other girls had different sauces and we started trying each others, this is how I tried the Chick-Fil-A sauce. It was so good, it is like a combination of honey mustard and bbq sauce, but more complex. It just goes together.
When I made the Sesame Seed Chicken, I knew I needed a dipping sauce to go with it. Ketchup or bbq sauce would have worked just fine, but I was jonesing for this sauce. I was so happy when this sauce was finished. It tastes exactly like the Chick-Fil-A version. This is not a copycat recipe where it is a good substitution when you can’t have it, blah, blah, blah, this is it!
